Dramatic last laps have made for some of F1’s most iconic images, be it Nigel Mansell collapsing next to the Lotus he was trying to push over the line in the searing heat of Dallas in 1984, or Rene Arnoux and Gilles Villeneuve knocking seven bells out of each other in their bid to finish second at Dijon in 1979.
