Carlos Sainz brought out the red flags in FP3 for the Canadian Grand Prix after a heavy crash in wet conditions. The Ferrari driver collided with the barrier at Turn 1, bringing his practice session to a premature end.
The Spaniard was second on the timesheets at the time of the crash, but the track conditions proved challenging for several drivers thanks to rain that had arrived at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

Sainz’s crash happened just after the halfway point of FP3 with replays showing the Ferrari man losing his rear going into Turn 1, before spinning into the barrier.
The front of his Ferrari was the first to hit the barrier, before his rear also made contact. The nose of the car was taken off in the impact but the Spaniard was thankfully ok following the incident and was soon back in the garage.
The Spaniard had already had an eventful session with the stewards noting a potential impeding incident involving him and Alex Albon, which will be investigated after the session.
