The new F1 2020 game may not be out until July, but today developers Codemasters released the first footage of the remodelled Zandvoort track from the new game.

The Dutch Grand Prix venue – one of two new circuits coming to the official videogame of the 2020 World Championship along with Vietnam's Hanoi Circuit – has two banked corners, with the final one tilted at 18-degrees. They will provide a unique challenge for drivers and sim racers alike, and you can see just how it looks in the video above as a virtual Max Verstappen tackles the track in the Red Bull RB16.

“The team has done an incredible job in recreating every aspect of the circuit,” said Codemasters’ F1 franchise game director Lee Mather.

“Circuit Zandvoort is highly technical with height variation, blind crests and unsighted braking points and corner apexes. It’s an onslaught on the senses and doesn’t give players a moment to rest.

“The banked final corner heading into the long straight is something players are going to enjoy,” he said.

Zandvoort was set to return to the F1 calendar this season for the first time since 1985 but the coronavirus shutdown has thrown a spanner in the works. But fans can get their fix of the updated track when F1 2020 is released on July 10.

The cover art for various versions of the game has also been revealed, including the ‘international’ version for the US, UK and Germany that features Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel on the box.

Charles Leclerc and Max Versatppen feature on the front cover in France, Italy and Benelux; Carlos Sainz and Sergio Perez in Spain and Mexico and gamers in Poland and Australia will have Kimi Raikkonen and Daniel Ricciardo on their boxes.

Of course, for those going for the Michael Schumacher Deluxe Edition, none other than the seven-time champion will be gracing the front cover of their game – which includes his championship-winning cars and the ability to play the game three days earlier than the July 10 release date.
