With Formula 1 still on hold plenty of the drivers have turned to sim racing to get their competition fix, and tonight George Russell and Nicholas Latifi were racing against each other, some guest stars, and even some fans in our F1 Esports #ChallengeWilliams event.

You can see all the action in the video above, as the two Williams drivers took on a series of challenges, with bragging rights at stake. Here's how it all worked...

Format

We had three challenges on the agenda, with a maximum total of nine points up for grabs for both Latifi and Russell. They were scored on how they fare in each discipline, with points on offer for things such as finishing position, fastest lap, and overtakes.

The Williams Showdown, featuring some of the team's junior drivers, kicked things off.

This five-lap race pitted the 2020 Williams duo against academy drivers Jack Aitken and Dan Ticktum, with one point available for the winner.

Poulter's revenge was the second race, as PGA Tour superstar Ian Poulter returned to the Esports arena for another shot at glory. Anyone who watched the #ChallengeLando event will remember an unfortunate showboating incident which ruined his chances of victory...

This time, he was back for revenge, and he brought some celebrity friends with him too, for a 25% distance race with a 10-strong grid that tasked George and Nicholas with emulating a legendary Williams drive from history, namely, Nigel Mansell's incredible home win at Silverstone in 1987.

There were points on offer for several feats here: fastest lap, taking second place by the penultimate lap, passing a team mate, and of course, the all-important win.

The Fan Race was Sunday evening's final challange. Sixteen lucky fans joined the lobby and raced against the Williams pairing in a 25% distance race.

It's Russell vs Latifi, but who will win?

Starting mid-pack, Latifi and Russell attempted to battle their way to the front. Two points were on offer for victory, with one for runner-up, and a bonus point for fastest lap. That meant three potential points, for a grand total of nine.
