After events on the tracks of Sakhir, Barcelona and Monte Carlo, this afternoon the F2 and F3 drivers were battling it out around the streets of the Baku City Circuit – in virtual form using the F2 cars in Codemasters’ F1 2019 game – in what was the final virtual round before the real F2 and F3 championships get back up and running in July at the Red Bull Ring in Austria.

Arthur Leclerc returned for PREMA Racing fresh from his victory around his home town of Monaco in the sprint race two weeks ago, while Louis Delétraz, winner of the feature race in Monte Carlo, was also back for Baku, racing for Charouz Racing System alongside Juan Manuel Correa.

Renault F1 test driver and winner of the feature race in Round 2 at Barcelona, Guanyu Zhou was also on the grid, and was hoping to cap off the Virtual Racing series with a victory before getting back into his real car next month.

F2 racer Nikita Mazepin joined in for the first time, as ded F3 drivers Bent Viscaal, Oscar Piastri, and 16-year-old Matteo Nannini – nephew of ex-F1 driver Alessandro – who was the Formula 4 UAE champion last year, and lined up for Carlin.

The final new boys on the grid were 18-year-old Renault Sport Academy driver Victor Martins who was racing for ART Grand Prix, and Paul Aron who lined up for BWT HWA RACELAB alongside Enzon Fittipaldi.

If you missed it, you can watch all the action live in the video above – and don't forget to tune in to the Virtual Azerbaijan Grand Prix later today at 1800 BST/1700 UTC, right here on F1.com.
