AS IT HAPPENED: Max Verstappen and Red Bull claim their title trophies at the FIA Prize Giving gala
Max Verstappen and Red Bull enjoyed a record-breaking season in 2022 as the Dutchman raced to 15 Grand Prix victories – more than any other driver has ever achieved in a single campaign – on his way to the world championship title.
Sergio Perez took two more wins as Red Bull sealed their first constructors’ championship since 2013, finally breaking Mercedes’ stranglehold on the crown.
And on Friday night, Verstappen and Red Bull were awarded the championship trophies they worked so hard to win across the whole season, at the FIA Prize Giving gala. Held this year in Bologna, Italy, the event was hosted by the Automobile Club d’Italia, and honoured champions from every major branch of international motor sport.
