WATCH: Norris’ despair, Hamilton’s joy, and Schumacher’s beep machine – The best team radio from Sochi

The Russian Grand Prix weekend delivered drama in spades, from a wet qualifying session that saw Lando Norris grab a sensational pole, to a tightly fought race that ended in victory for Lewis Hamilton. Along the way, helped in no small part by the conditions, were spins, crashes and plenty of frantic calls on the radio with the race engineers having to make some quick decisions on strategy…

Practice was awash with confusion after Norris managed to crash on pit entry, while Hamilton overshot his pit box thanks to the ‘magic’ button and Pierre Gasly dented more than his pride when he took too much kerb.

Mick Schumacher didn’t rely on the beeping machine to cover his potty mouth after finding out he missed Q2 in qualifying, while good friend and mentor Sebastian Vettel was equally frustrated with missing Q3 and did require some assistance after turning the airwaves blue. But there were contrasting emotions from Norris, Sainz – whose engineer seems to be an A-Team fan – and Russell who bagged the top three slots on the grid.

As for the race, the closing stages were all drama as drivers insisted they could stay out, begged to come in and were left crestfallen when they saw places and points slipping from their grasp.
