WATCH: Oscar Piastri and new Team Principal Andrea Stella observe as McLaren’s 2023 F1 car is fired up
McLaren fired up their Mercedes power unit on Wednesday, an important milestone in the development of the outfit’s 2023 car, with members of the team gathering at their Woking factory to listen in.
With CEO Zak Brown, new Team Principal Andrea Stella and rookie driver Oscar Piastri in attendance, McLaren showed off the pleasant sounds of the engine that they hope will help fire them up the grid in 2023.
McLaren are due to unveil their 2023 car – which will be driven by Piastri and team mate Lando Norris – on February 13 at the McLaren Technology Centre, as they set their sights on improving on their fifth-place finish in last season’s constructors’ standings.
