Sergio Perez's only lap in Q3 was good enough to see him take pole position for the second year in a row at Jeddah, with the Mexican driver holding off the challenge of Charles Leclerc and Fernando Alonso to seal a second career P1 start.
Perez set a time of 1m 28.265s to lead the Ferrari of Leclerc, by 0.155s, and Alonso in the Aston Martin, by 0.465s – with team mate Max Verstappen having pulled out of qualifying with a driveshaft issue in Q2 that leaves him down in P15.
