WATCH: Ride onboard with Verstappen for his captivating pole position lap in Qatar

Max Verstappen bounced back from a disappointing Qatar Sprint result in remarkable fashion, ending his day on an undeniable high by narrowly edging out George Russell to claim pole position around the Lusail International Circuit.
The Red Bull driver suffered with balance issues in the Sprint and was only able to take a single point from the 19 laps, but after the team made tweaks to the car going into qualifying, he flew around the track to clock a remarkable time of 1m 20.520s.

Russell's Mercedes was only 0.055s off the pace, with the McLaren pair of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri also looking quick, but it was Verstappen who put together the perfect lap to achieve his first pole position since the Austrian Grand Prix.
