WEEKEND WARM-UP: F1 set to go racing under the floodlights again as Singapore returns

Share

Singapore plays host to the 16th round of the 2022 Formula 1 season as the sport heads back to the Marina Bay Street Circuit for the first time in three years.

With the Covid-19 pandemic ruling out visits in 2020 and 2021, the venue is back on the calendar this year as part of a double header sequence with Suzuka and the Japanese Grand Prix.

The weekend will see Max Verstappen get his first opportunity to secure the 2022 title and make it back-to-back championship wins, but can Ferrari rival Charles Leclerc do anything to delay the party?

Elsewhere, Alex Albon returns to action with Williams after coming down with appendicitis last time out in Italy and suffering post-procedure complications including respiratory failure.

There is also the question of who will partner Albon next season, following the news that the Grove outfit are to part ways with Nicholas Latifi – while there are other pieces of the driver market puzzle yet to fall into place.

Join Lawrence Barretto, Will Buxton and Laura Winter in Weekend Warm-Up and hear from the drivers ahead of the race weekend via the video player above.
