The tifosi are back at Imola for the 2022 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix and it's also time for the first Sprint weekend of the 2022 season – the paddock abuzz with anticipation for this huge event.
On Thursday, the drivers descended on the paddock readying themselves for a new Sprint format that promises points further down the order at the historic Imola circuit – which hosted a fiery fight between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton in 2021, but no Sprint.
This season, we also have Ferrari at the top entering their first home race of the year, Charles Leclerc leading the standings for the Scuderia, while team mate Carlos Sainz – with a two-year contract extension in his back pocket – hunts for a big result to put himself back in the fray.
With Ferrari's success comes the return of fans to this beautiful circuit in the heart of Italy.
