What's the weather forecast for the Russian Grand Prix?
The 2021 Russian Grand Prix will see Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen resume their championship battle, the pair just five points apart in the standings – and the weather at Sochi may provide another challenge...
After a spectacular race-ending collision between the title contenders at Monza, Sochi hosts the next round of the 2021 world championship and, as for the weather, there's a chance it could rain during the Russian GP weekend.
Saturday sees the highest chance of precipitation, meaning drivers might have to qualify in the wet – while there's also a slight chance of rain for Friday's practice sessions and Sunday's Grand Prix.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 24 – FP1 AND FP2 WEATHER
Conditions: Partly cloudy during the day. Increasing clouds and chance of rain in the late afternoon and evening. Dry conditions likely for the sessions. Moderate westerly wind.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 25 – FP3 AND QUALIFYING WEATHER
Conditions: Overcast with a high chance of rain throughout the day. Rain intensity potentially heavy giving more than 20mm from dawn to middle afternoon. Improvement expected in the late afternoon. Gusty southerly wind, up to 50 km/h until midday then veering northwesterly and weakening significantly after 1500.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 26 – RACE WEATHER
Conditions: Partly cloudy. Slight chance of showers for the Race. Temperatures around 21°C for the Race. Moderate southerly wind with gust up to 35km/h.
