ABU DHABI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES - DECEMBER 10: Jack Aitken of Great Britain and Williams walks in

Williams reserve driver Jack Aitken has been taken to hospital following a crash in the Spa 24 Hours in Belgium.

The British racer, who was driving a Lamborghini in the event, was involved in a multi-car shunt at Raidillon with three other drivers.

According to race organisers all four were seen at the circuit medical centre before Aitken and Davide Rigon were transferred to hospital for further evaluation, and the other drivers released to their teams.

Williams tweeted their support for Aitken soon afterwards, saying he had “no life threatening injuries”.

Aitken, who also races in Formula 2, has started one Grand Prix for the Grove-based team, in Sakhir last year where he deputised for George Russell.
