Kubica completes ‘successful’ test with Williams
Share
Robert Kubica has completed a one-day test with Williams at Silverstone as he continues his quest to make a full-time return to the F1 grid.
The one-time Grand Prix winner, who was badly injured in a rally crash immediately prior to the 2011 season, is one of several drivers under consideration by Williams for a 2018 seat alongside Lance Stroll, with current driver Felipe Massa and reserve driver Paul di Resta also in contention for the drive.
Williams did not reveal any mileage or performance details from Kubica’s test, but did say his outing in a 2014 FW36 had been ‘successful’.
The Pole has been linked with a further run-out in the car in Budapest next week, alongside Di Resta, who raced there as a substitute for Massa in July.
If it happens, it will mark the second time Kubica has tested at the Hungaroring this year, following his day’s running with Renault in August.
