Daniel Ricciardo endured a trubulent 2022 at McLaren that ended with him losing his place on the F1 grid. However, the Australian is now back full time and on the latest episode of F1’s Beyond the Grid podcast, he is here to discuss it all.

Ricciardo begins by reflecting on a 2023 season that saw him start the year as Red Bull’s reserve driver before coming in at AlphaTauri halfway through the campaign, only to break his hand after crashing in Zandvoort, before returning in Austin.

But having departed McLaren and admittedly losing some passion for the sport, what inspired the comeback? The Australian reveals to host Tom Clarkson that it was a trip to the Super Bowl that gave him the belief to make a return.

The eight-time race winner also tells all about the test laps at Silverstone that sealed his return to the grid, as well as whether being crowned a world champion is still a dream he harbours.
