Tips for the Russian GP – use your Mega Driver powerup
Want to get your hands on some of those brilliant prizes? You'll need to get your team in top shape for the Russian GP, so here are a few tips ahead of the race at Sochi.
Now is a very fine time to play your second Mega Driver powerup of the season, as Lewis Hamilton is on both a race streak and a qualifying streak. If he gets top-10 finishes in qualifying and the race, he’ll net 15 extra points. A Mega Driver powerup will multiply that by three and fire you up the standings.
REVEALED: The driver you voted as the most impressive so far in 2020
Other drivers on qualifying streaks, which net five extra points, are Hamilton’s Mercedes team mate Valtteri Bottas, Max Verstappen of Red Bull and McLaren’s Carlos Sainz. Sainz, at over $15m, could be your pick this week from the midfield – and he finished a stellar sixth at Sochi last year – so stick a Turbo Driver powerup on the Spaniard if you can afford to buy him.
If you can't afford Sainz, don't fret. Sergio Perez is a good bet in Russia, costing under $10m at time of writing and on a run of four solid F1 Fantasy scores. He doesn’t net huge points (bar Tuscany thanks to race and qualifying streaks) but he scores consistently. He also featured in the Team of The Week from Mugello, which is below.
Also be aware that Daniel Ricciardo has made it three consecutive top-10 qualifications and race finishes - so he'll be set to net 15 extra points at the Portuguese Grand Prix if he keeps this run going.
Home driver Daniil Kvyat is another one to watch out for, as he’s taken two consecutive top-10 finishes this season and costs just under $10m. Kvyat and Ricciardo also featured in the Team Of The Week from last week’s race – as seen above. So click here to get your team ready now - or sign up if you haven't already.
