Charles Leclerc got back to winning ways this weekend, as the Ferrari driver withstood late reliability issues and competition from Max Verstappen to win the Austrian Grand Prix – his fifth career win.

Leclerc started the day in second, but overtook Verstappen three times on track and dealt with a late throttle issue to seal victory at the Red Bull Ring. Verstappen had looked likely to settle for third as he was being attacked by Carlos Sainz, but kept hold of P2 when the Spaniard's F1-75's engine caught fire. Lewis Hamilton, in the Mercedes, came home in P3 – for the third race in a row.

George Russell overcame early damage and a penalty to make his way through the field into fourth, ahead of Esteban Ocon in fifth and Mick Schumacher in sixth. It was a good day for McLaren, with Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo finishing in seventh and ninth, with Kevin Magnussen in eighth, as Fernando Alonso rounded out the top 10.
