Ahead of the 2023 event, we’ve delved into the F1 archives and picked out five great scraps witnessed in previous editions, with plenty of wheel-to-wheel action to choose from.

Taking it back to 2012, there was a thrilling exchange involving Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel – who had started from the pit lane – and McLaren’s Jenson Button, with the pair swapping positions on several occasions in a bid to finish on the podium.
In 2018, sparks flew as the Red Bull of Max Verstappen diced with Racing Point pair Esteban Ocon and Sergio Perez, with the latter going on to complete “one of the best moves of my career” on Lando Norris a year later.
And who could forget the drama of the 2021 event, which included Perez backing up Lewis Hamilton midway through the race and Verstappen making a last-lap pass on the Mercedes driver to take the title?
