Retaking the lead from Norris on Lap 5 of 52, Verstappen was never headed again, but it wasn’t a comfortable run to the flag for the championship leader, who had to overcome a Safety Car restart after Kevin Magnussen’s Haas had given up the ghost on the track.
Hamilton joined Verstappen and Norris on the rostrum, the Mercedes star having pitted to perfection under that Safety Car to jump the second McLaren of Oscar Piastri, who claimed a career-best P4.
