Getting to and from the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez is simple, but it’s best to plan your route in advance to catch all the action and make the most of your time in Mexico City.

We suggest using public transport where possible, with a number of options to get you right to the heart of the action. Read on for more information.

The circuit is located within the public park of the Magdalena Mixhuca Sports City in southeast Mexico City, and is best accessed by public transport. Make sure you leave plenty of time to get to the circuit – despite its convenient location, when Formula 1 comes to town it's a very popular destination!

We strongly encourage the use of public transport options when travelling to and from the circuit

Transport

Mexico City’s metro system is one of the largest in the world, consisting of 12 colour-coded lines that serve both the city and its suburbs, offering convenient access to the circuit. The metro is known for its efficiency and affordability so is a popular option for fans over the Grand Prix weekend. It can become crowded at peak times, so be sure to factor that in when planning your travel times.

The Velodromo, Ciudad Deportiva, and Puebla stations on Metro Line 9 (Brown – Pantitlan–Tacubaya) are nearest, located to the north of the circuit.

The metro opens at 5am weekdays, 6am Saturday and 7am Sunday, and closes each evening at midnight, making it a practical choice of travel throughout the Grand Prix weekend.

The metrobus is also a quick and reliable way to reach the circuit during the Grand Prix weekend. With dedicated lanes that bypass heavy traffic, it will get you to the circuit much faster than using a private car. The metrobus runs from 4.30am Monday to Saturday and 5am Sunday, until midnight.

The UPIICSA and El Rodeo stations on Metrobus Line 2 (Purple – Tacubaya–Tepalcates) are close by, located on the south side of the circuit.

There is no parking at the circuit, and with increased traffic in the area over the Grand Prix weekend it is not recommended to travel directly to the circuit via car.

Whichever method of transport you decide to use, we encourage you to get to the circuit early.

Getting into the circuit

The Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez has 14 entrances. Make sure to enter through the gates closest to your grandstand. Check out the F1 Race Guide App or the dedicated area of the Mexico City Grand Prix website for more information.

The gates open at the following times:

  • Friday: 08:00
  • Saturday: 08:00
  • Sunday: 08:00

Opening hours are local time and are subject to change. Check out the dedicated area of the Mexico City Grand Prix website for updates.

Leaving the circuit

Due to the large number of fans leaving the circuit after each day's action, some congestion when exiting the venue should be expected. Keep this in mind when using public transport too.

The metro and metrobus finish running at midnight each night. Whichever method of transport you decide to take, we encourage you to stick around and leave later if possible, enjoying the array of entertainment and attractions on offer at the circuit while avoiding the worst of any congestion.
